Brakes of types 2TE, 3TE and types 8TE, 9TE are designed to fix the motor shaft when disconnected from the mains and are installed on electric motors of the AIR (AIS) type on the rear shield of the electric motor (on the fan side.) It is possible to use the parking brake as part of the drives.
They are used in mechanisms that do not have particularly stringent requirements for speed and brake life. In other cases, specifications must be agreed with the manufacturer.
Type 2TE and 3TE brakes are connected to an independent power source and can be used as part of a variable frequency drive.
Brakes of types 8TE and 9TE are connected in series with the stator phase winding. They are delivered as a part of an electric motor with a brake with a rectifier placed in the terminal box of the motor.
Brakes of types 2TE and 8TE have a handle for manual release of the brake (for braking in the absence of supply voltage).
For use in dusty environments and outdoors, the above brake models are available in a protected version. The degree of brake protection of this design meets IP54 according to GOST 14254-96.
